CURRENTLY SEEKING: Client Services Engineer

ENGINEERING POSITIONS

Vicinity is actively seeking skilled Client Services Engineers!

Provide Engineering support for Vicinity services
Good communications skills are required.
Should be able to fit in and work well as a team member.
Good understanding of C programming, shell scripts, perl and html are required(one or more is desirable).
Qualified candidates should have a BS in CS or equivalent and 1+ years experience.

Requirements for all positions
The following requirements must be met by all candidates for any Engineering positions at Vicinity.

Undergraduate degree in technical major (or equivalent related work experience)
2 years of C programming experience (school experience accepted for some positions)
2-5 years industry experience in software development environment
Ability to learn quickly and work on multiple projects simultaneously
Above-average UNIX computer skills (Solaris environment preferred)
Very good organizational skills
Very good systems design skills
Very good oral, written communication and organizational skills

Requirements for specific positions
Specialized expertise required for some Engineering positions is listed here. Please indicate in your cover message which of these you possess.

Programming experience in one or more of the following areas:
- cartography
- vector Graphics (including EPS, PDF)
- raster Graphics (including GIF, JPEG)
- electronic directories
- RDBMS (Oracle preferred)
Knowledge of HTML, CGI, or Perl
Knowledge of UNIX utilities (sh, awk, grep, sed)
Fluency in one or more languages other than English (please specify which languages)
Experience as a project leader
Graphics development skills
Knowledge of testing methodologies
Knowledge of tools for testing World Wide Web services
Experience as a test engineer
Knowledge of CASE methodologies
Experience as a configuration management specialist
