Vicinity's Business Directory can be implemented as a national Yellow Pages or a subject or context specific directory of businesses, events, points of interest, etc. The YourTown database contains 16 million businesses, and customer databases can be easily added. YourTown offers a unique categorization scheme (clickable ontology) that lets users easily surf through hundreds of business categories to find the local businesses they need without typing a word. When integrated with Vicinity's GeoEnabling services, such as Driving Directions, Proximity Search, and VIMs, Business Directory implementations become powerful and compelling localizing services on Web sites, and offer an ideal medium for response-oriented, geographically targeted advertising programs.
