Camp Agape ended on Thursday with a moving memorial service officiated by Father James Retelas. Four children who attended camp were remembered. Jim Peterson was also remembered for the love and years of service he gave to Camp Agape.

  Candlelighters ( the parent support group for kids with cancer) presented Camp Agape with a magnificent bench in Jim Peterson's memory, a bird bath to be used at camp, a photo album which each family helped assemble and notes from each child. A tree was then planted in the memorial garden and butterflies were released while each child prayed for a special wish.

We later assembled in front of the lodge where each family received a farewell package, a hug from Fred Bear and a send off from the Camp Agape staff.

The following letter was received from one of the Camp Agape families this year;

"Each year you start something wonderful, you plant these seeds of hope and happiness, and them they bloom and grow. You don't always see the resulting blossoms because what you give our families lasts far beyond the camp itself; it is measured by the hearts, whose scars start to heal, and in the precious memories that are carried forever of those moments of magic generated by your Agape love. Not many people can say that they have truly made a difference in another person's life, but all of you can, because you have touched our lives forever".

The children of Camp Agape have truly touched and enriched our lives forever.
