
cross five continents, eight short-term mission teams in 2001 will become a visible expression of love, unity and support in Alaska, Albania, Brazil, Cameroon, Guatemala, India, Romania, and East Africa. The teams allow participants to answer God's calling to "go to all nations" by taking them to remote areas of the world to assist needy communities with their talents and labor.
The Alaska Orthodox Mission Team will travel to remote villages on the Yukon River offering seminars and retreats on the Church and Faith. The team will also participate in the Diocese's annual Yukon Orthodox Youth Camp, and they will be accompanied by local priests and counterpart team (of seminarians and readers) from within the Diocese. This eight-member team will travel for three weeks July through August 2001.
The Albania Orthodox Mission Team will travel to three different regions of Albania offering catechism through preaching and small group outreach. |

The team is to be accompanied by Albanian seminarians, and witness to various communities within the country. This small five-member evangelism team will travel to Albania for three weeks in June 2001.
The 2001 Brazil Orthodox Mission Team has been invited by His Grace Jeremias of Aspendos to help with the construction of a seminary at the Diocese Center in Curitiba, Brazil. Team members will also visit and encourage local communities in the Faith. The ten-member team will work together for four weeks in July
2001.
The 2001 Cameroon Orthodox Mission Team will be co-sponsored by Metropolitan Anthony of the Greek Orthodox Diocese of San Francisco. Metropolitan Theodoros of Cameroon has invited and Orthodox Mission Team to West Africa to construct the Saint Dimitrios Orthodox Church in Ebolowa. The ten to twelve member team will work for four weeks.
Two Guatemala Orthodox Mission Teams will assist with various projects, showing love and care to the children at the Hogar Rafael Ayau Orphanage in Guatemala City. Projects include youth ministry, teaching, outreach, and witnessing to the children and community. Each three-week team will have twelve members.
The India Orthodox Mission Team will lead catechism seminars on the Orthodox Faith offered annually to converts and non-converts. The team will also assist with daily mission outreach, feeding and clothing needy children and adults. This small five-member team will assist in Calcutta for three weeks, August through September 2001. |

The Romania Orthodox Mission Team will assist missionaries by traveling to different communities in the Archdiocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj offering youth camps and seminars. OCMC missionaries and counterpart team of Romanian seminarians will accompany the Team. The eight-member team will travel in August 2001.
The 2001 East Africa Orthodox Mission Team will visit numerous communities in Uganda and Tanzania offering seminars on the Church and Faith. They will be teaching at the local seminaries and catechetical centers. The eight-member team will assist for six to eight weeks in the summer of 2001.
In conjunction to the ongoing construction and teaching projects, medical personnel are needed to help oversee the health of the mission team members, conduct medical clinics, and offer health instruction. Efforts will also be coordinated with Orthodox Christian Dental Outreach to provide dental health care services.
