The eleventh annual Holiday Brunch benefiting the BA-Student Aid Endowment Fund will be held December 2, 2000 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in San Francisco.

The Student Aid Endowment Fund gives financial support (tuition) to the men and women of the San Francisco Diocese attending Hellenic College and Holy Cross School of Theology. Through its fund raising last year, financial support of $39,000.00 was received by our Diocese students.

As a Diocese Philoptochos event, this fundraiser is hosted by the Philoptochos Chapters of Northern California and the California Valley with this year, the newly organized Philoptochos Ladies of Holy Trinity and its parish as our hosts. Diocese Philoptochos Board Chairman of this event is Koula Stravrou McCormick who also serves as a vice president of the Board.

For your pleasure, a reception is planned at 11:00 a.m. on December 2, with luncheon at 12:00 Noon. A special program and the "traditional drawing" with surprises, is being planned for your enjoyment in the beautifully remodeled Holy Trinity Community Hall. Mark your calendar! Annual Diocese Philoptochos Retreat

The annual Philoptochos Retreat for men and women of the San Francisco Diocese (Philoptochos members and non-members) will be held this year on October 20-22 at the St. Nicholas Ranch, Conference and Retreat Center, Dunlap, CA.


We are indeed fortunate to have this year as Retreat Director Reverend John Bakas, pastor of the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Los Angeles, CA. The theme of the retreat will be the "Sacrament of Diakonia". There will be lively discussion, opportunity for confession, Divine Liturgy on Sunday.
